The Community Assembly of St Anne's Chapel is located in a village in the parish of Calstock, Cornwall in the Territory of Kernow. It iies west of Gunnislake on the A390 between Tavistock and Liskeard.
The chapel derives its name from a historically significant site, potentially linked to an ancient chapel near a holy well. It is distinct from the 1880 St Anne's Church in nearby Gunnislake, serving as a landmark in the Tamar Valley area known for its industrial and mining history.
St Ann's Chapel is a village settlement within the larger parish of Calstock, which dates back to at least the Domesday Book of 1086. The nearby St Anne's Church in Gunnislake was consecrated in 1880 as a ' Chapel of Ease ' to serve the growing industrial population. It was dedicated to St Anne to honour the older, traditional site in the area.
The area of St Ann's Chapel is closely linked to the industrial heritage of the Tamar Valley, with nearby sites including the Rifle Volunteer pub, which reflects the area's 19th-century volunteer force history.
